Hits and Misses

HITS

I like to play games all day
The sun shines down its rays
On the court i like to hoop
Playing ball with my group

BUT

When the weather isn't great
and I cannot hang with my mates
I must not cry
For i can go inside

to play fortnite
without a fright

This post is a "hit" because I feel like it was the best poem I wrote. I use some enjambment, and  lots of rhyme. My poetry was advancing and you can see it with this post.

This past week has been crazy, we were only supposed to have one day off on Monday for MLK day but instead had four days off because of the weather. It didn't even snow that much so that was a disappointment, but we had to do ECL's which was good because I don't want to have to make up days of school later in the year, i'd rather just get my work done now. I got to sleep in and rest after a lot of basketball.

My Dad and I went to the LSU basketball game last Saturday, it was my first game of the new season and it was amazing. The place was live and the new jumbotron was huge. We played Alabama and we got screwed by the referees, as usual when we play Alabama. We lost by 7 but it was a fun game. The next days of my long break were doing ECL's and sleeping in as long as playing some xbox. This was almost like an extra week of Christmas break.

This post was a "hit" because it was one of the free posts where I feel like my writing improved grammatically. It was also easy for me to remember main moments at this time, this is something I struggle at. 

I tend to be a pretty happy kid in my life. But the things that make me the happiest are sports, friends and family. I love all these things in different ways, they all are fun and me happy. They are many things that make me happy but these are the most important.

My sports make me happy because I feel like I'm pretty good at them and whenever I do them it makes feel like I do whatever I want. Football and Basketball are very fun and I wish to play one of those in college. My friends make me happy because they are so funny and good people. They make me laugh and help me when I'm down. My parents of course make me the happiest because they make me laugh, help me when I'm down, encourage me, and are the best people I know.

This post was a"hit" because of the time I took on this. The post was supposed to be a happy post about things I'm happy about. I was able to put them all together and make a post.

MISSES

My misses this year were the literary analysis, personal narrative, and the blog post "reading response to Lord of the Flies". 

The Literary Analysis was a "miss" because I felt like I couldn't write much about the the book. I didn't enjoy Lord of the Flies that much so that made it hard as well. The Personal Narrative was a "miss" because it was hard for me to go back into time and remember that LSU game because it was so long ago. The "reading response to Lord of the Flies" was a "miss" because it was hard for me to put my thoughts of the book onto paper.
